Our Full Review

I work from home and sit for 8-10 hours a day. By 3 PM, my tailbone felt like it was being drilled into my office chair, no matter how "ergonomic" the chair claimed to be. The Comfilife cushion was a Hail Mary purchase, and it worked better than chairs three times its price.

The design is straightforward but effective. Memory foam base for support, gel layer on top for pressure distribution and cooling, and a U-shaped cutout at the back that relieves pressure on the coccyx and lower spine. The first time I sat on it, the difference was immediate -- the pressure points I'd been living with for months just disappeared.

After five months of daily use, the cushion has held its shape better than I expected for the price. There's been maybe 10% compression, which is normal for memory foam. The non-slip bottom actually works -- it stays put on my mesh office chair, which previous cushions slid off of constantly. The removable cover is machine washable and still looks clean.

It's not perfect for everyone. If you're under 130 lbs, you might find it too firm since the memory foam needs some weight to compress properly. And it adds about 3 inches of height to your seat, which may require adjusting your desk height or chair settings. But for the price, the relief it provides is remarkable.

How We Tested

Used daily for 5 months on a standard mesh office chair. Tested on a wooden dining chair and car seat as well. Measured compression over time. Tested non-slip bottom on mesh, leather, and fabric chair surfaces. Machine washed cover biweekly to test durability.

Who Is This For?

Remote workers who sit for long hours, anyone with tailbone or lower back pain, people with sciatica or coccyx issues. Works great on office chairs, dining chairs, and car seats. May be too firm for very lightweight users under 130 lbs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work in a car?+

Yes, and it's one of the most popular uses. It fits standard car seats and the non-slip bottom keeps it in place. Great for long commutes or road trips.

Will it make my chair too tall?+

It adds about 3 inches of height. If your chair is adjustable, just lower it. If not, you may need to adjust your desk height or use a footrest.

How long does it last?+

With daily use, expect 1-2 years before noticeable compression. At $35, even a year of daily comfort is an excellent value.

Is the gel layer cold in winter?+

The gel is room temperature -- it adapts to ambient conditions. In winter it feels neutral, not cold. In summer it prevents the heat buildup you get with pure memory foam.
